coming home to Yucatan

Roy Seals recently visited Merida and Valladolid.

Roy traveled to Yucatan with Global Faith Project Partner, Rick Haskett. Roy's Dad was a missionary in Yucatan from the time he was a child, and Roy went on to serve there as a missionary after he was married. In addition to several speaking engagements, Roy visited with Global Faith missionaries Manuel and Carmen Verde. The purpose of the trip was to plan ongoing ministry events, and prepare to take teams down for short-term mission trips. Roy and Rick visited the village of Santa Maria where a new church is being established. The home of the woman on the left is where the church currently meets. They have just purchased property to begin construction of a church building.

Visiting the village of Tecoh

Roy will take teams down to Yucatan to assist local churches with their VBS programs in 2023. Roy said the value of these trips is that they help people appreciate what it's like on the field. "They see it, experience it, and understand it. And it changes their perspective."

Roy and Rick also visited the site of his Dad's former ministry in Tecoh. The buildings on the right are now used by Roy's sisters in their children's ministry. One of the ministries is "Lenny's Store." The store hosts six ministry events for children each year where they can redeem points they've earned to purchase gifts for loved ones.
